Is it legal to ride these lanes?
Wayward shows byways open to the public, but it is not a guide to where motor vehicles are permitted. The default mode plans over byways open to all traffic; the optional "unchecked byways" setting adds lanes that are unverified — many of which are recorded in public map data as restricted for motor vehicles. Lanes can also be seasonal or have orders against them. The data is indicative only — you are always responsible for confirming a route is legal, open and safe before you ride it.
Where does Wayward work?
England & Wales, with over 26,000 byways and tracks mapped from open data. We're expanding coverage as the beta grows.
Do I need a phone signal out there?
No. Your whole ride is planned before you set off, so the compass keeps pointing the way even with no bars deep in the hills. (Guided mode's map tiles do need a connection to load.)
What can I ride it on?
Road-legal off-road motorbikes and mountain bikes. Mount it on the bars in landscape, or keep it in a pocket and glance at the arrow.
When can I get it?
Wayward is in TestFlight beta now and launching on the App Store soon. Join the launch list and you'll be first to ride — at the locked-in beta price.
